December  11   Dr Qazi Fariduddin, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, received the Raman Fellowship of UGC to visit USA for one year under Indo-US 21st Century Knowledge Initiative for conducting advance research in Molecular Biology in relation to Food Security at Michigan State University, USA.

Abdul Qadeer, Department of Computer Engineering have been identified as the most cited author by an international publishing company

November  22   Professor Saiyed Mohammad Ameen Mian Qadri, Department of Urdu has again found a place among five hundred most influential Muslims of the world for the fifth time. The directory is published by the Royal Islamic Strategic Centre, USA.

November  21   Mr Sartaj Ali Tiyagi, PGT (Botany), Senior Secondary School (Boys), , has been selected to be included in the New Marquis Who's Who in the World 2014 directory.

November  4   Dr. Shahab Fazal, Associate Professor, Department of Geography, has been awarded Fulbright Fellowship by United States - India Education Foundation (USIEF). The fellowship is awarded under Environment Leadership Program for conducting research in USA.

September  24   Dr. Moinuddin, Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, JNMC has been awarded the prestigious Commonwealth Academic Fellowship to work with Prof. H.R. Griffiths in the School of Life and Health Sciences, Aston University, Birmingham, UK.


July  3   The Council of the Indian Chemical Society has decided to felicitate Professor Kabir-ud-Din, Department of Chemistry at the Aligarh Muslim University with the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his contribution in the field of Chemical Sciences. The Award will be conferred on him at the inaugural session of the 50th Annual Convention of Chemicals to be held on December 4, 2013 at the Punjab University, Chandigarh.Prof. Kabir-ud-Din is a UGC BSR (Basic Science Research) Faculty Fellow. Earlier, he was the Emeritus Fellow of the University Grants Commission.

June  19   Dr. Rachana Kaushal, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, AMU has been invited by US Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Washington DC, to participate in a six week study on "Religious Pluralism".A total fifteen participants from across the globe have been selected to participate in the study. Dr. Rachana kaushal is the only teacher from India to be a part of the study.

June  8   Dr. Feroz Alam's paper entitled "Potential applications of quantum dots in mapping sentinel lymph node and detection of micrometastases in breast carcinoma" Assistant Professor, Department of Pathology, JNMC, AMU has been accepted for publication in the renowned international journal "Global Medical Discovery", Canada.

April  29   Dr. Waseem Raja Department of History has been nominated by Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India for the SAARC Conference to be held at Sigriya, Sri Lanka

April  27   Prof M. R. Ajmal Department of Medicine, JN Medical College, has been awarded Fellowship (FICP) by Indian College of Physicians, an academic wing of Association of Physicians of India in recognition and appreciation of his outstanding contribution towards the Association of Physicians of India.

April  16   Dr. Hassan Imam, Assistant Professor, Department of History, Aligarh Muslim University, received the Best Paper Award for his paper on "British Education Policy in South Asia: A Critical Appraisal" presented in 2nd International Conference on Humanity, History and Society (ICHHS 2013) held at Bangkok, Thailand.

April  12   Dr M. Masroor A. Khan, Associate Professor, Department of Botany, Aligarh Muslim University has been awarded a prestigious research project entitled "Development of formulations employing radiation-processed polysaccharides for enhanced essential oil production, conducting field experiments on lemongrass and mint" sponsored by the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai, for three years.

April  4   Dr. M. Waseem Raja, Assistant Professor, Centre for Advanced Studies, Department of History has been awarded a major research project by University Grants' Commission under the category "UGC support for the Major Research Project in Humanities and Social Sciences to University Teachers". The grant has been sanctioned for its utilization in his work on "Afghans of India and their History".

March  26   Dr. (Mrs.) Subuhi Khan, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, Aligarh Muslim University has been nominated for Hindustan Times Women Award "Woman of Substance" for her significant contribution in mathematics and for promoting Mathematics among female students

March  22   Dr Asad Ullah Khan, Associate Professor and Coordinator, Interdisciplinary Biotechnology Unit, Aligarh Muslim University has been awarded with the prestigious "National Bioscience Award for Career Development" by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India for the year 2012

March  14   The prestigious Lambert Academic Publishing, Germany has published an important medical research book authored by Dr. Diwan Israr Khan. The book titled "Ambiguous Genitalia: An Approach" has been co-authored by Dr. Farzana K. Beig and Prof. S. Manazir Ali of Department of Pediatrics, J. N. medical College, Aligarh Muslim University.
